Right …your Tax Return has been filed….but how do you actually pay your tax bill…..

(Remember when you make a payment – you will need to provide a payment reference number. For a Self Assessment payment the reference number is your 10 digit UTR number (which can be found on the top left on the front page of your Tax Return) and you insert a ‘K’ at the end – so it would look something like this: 1234567890K )
Remember the deadlines for paying your tax bill are:
- 31 January – for any tax you owe for the previous tax year (known as a balancing payment) and your first payment on account; and
- 31 July for your second payment on account
